The Service & Team

The team sits within the wider HR Business Operations function in People Services and brings together occupational health, wellbeing, and business support to deliver a responsive, customer-focused service across the organisation.

The Role

We are looking to recruit up to 2.2 FTE posts which can be split across a flexible working multi role basis. 1 post will be case management and additional time (approx 1 day per week) to provide clinical audit, IHR support for the practice manager, and capacity assessments. The remaining 1.2 FTE will solely be supporting case management.

This is an operationally remote role/s working within Cornwall Council’s core delivery hours, Monday to Friday. The post holder will provide up to six digital appointments per day via Microsoft Teams and telephone, supporting occupational health case management referrals. Predominantly supporting psychological health referral (approx 80% of case load) to help managers and employees navigate health-related matters at work, including fitness for work, workplace adjustments, attendance, and return-to-work planning.

Alongside this, there is protected time for clinical supervision, case discussion, and wider team support. The role will also contribute to broader wellbeing activity where required, with occasional office attendance agreed in advance with the line manager.

Working Pattern

You will be working within Cornwall Council’s core delivery hours, Monday to Friday. The post holder will provide up to six digital appointments per day via Microsoft Teams and telephone.

What you’ll need to succeed

To succeed in this role, you will:

  • Be a qualified nurse with registration on Part 3 of the NMC register (Specialist Community Public Health Nurse – Occupational Health), or be actively working towards this qualification.
  • You will bring occupational health knowledge and experience of case management, together with a compassionate and practical approach to supporting people at work.
  • You will be comfortable working remotely and managing a structured daily workload, while also having time for reflection, supervision, and discussion with colleagues.
  • Have strong communication skills to help you build trust, provide clear advice, and work positively with managers, employees, and the wider team. We welcome different working styles and recognise that people work best in different ways, so we are looking for someone who can work thoughtfully, seek support when needed, and contribute to a collaborative and inclusive team environment.
  • Have an interest in wellbeing and a willingness to support wider team activity would also be valuable.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
