Job Description

The role:

As an Occupational Health Advisor, you will provide a dedicated service to Next Distribution employees. Supporting the Dearne Valley and Doncaster sites and the Transport Division you will work within a multidisciplinary team to enhance wellbeing and minimise health risks.

What you’ll take on:

  • Managing a dedicated caseload to provide support and advice on long-term sickness absence and capability.
  • Carrying out physical and mental health assessments to make practical workplace recommendations for employees with chronic health problems.
  • Supporting tailored return-to-work programmes by identifying individual health needs.
  • Providing comprehensive, actionable, and timely reports on employee fitness based on evidence-based practice.
  • Supporting the delivery of health surveillance, training, and health promotion programmes.
  • Undertaking workplace visits to identify factors impacting individual health, detecting significant hazards, and assisting Managers in correcting them before ill health or injury occurs.
  • Advising Managers and HR on current employment and health legislation.

  • A strong understanding of current health, safety, and employment legislation.
