Occupational Health Advisor (Registered Nurse) – Ref: JOB6072

Role Outline

You will provide clear, visible, and professional advice to our clients’ employees by fulfilling the full occupational health remit, including:

  • Consultation and medical advice
  • Education and health promotion initiatives
  • Medical assessments
  • Drug & Alcohol (D&A) testing where appropriate
  • Full compliance with the client contract

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Conduct case management appointments for employee health assessments
  • Assess fitness for work and issue fitness certificates per Health Partners policies
  • Write to GPs and specialists in line with Access to Medical Reports Act and Data Protection Act
  • Respond to client and manager queries, maintaining accurate records per NMC standards
  • Provide health surveillance in accordance with current legislation
  • Manage site medical incidents
  • Support the Occupational Health Nursing team through training and development
  • Contribute to a proactive Occupational Health Service
  • Maintain NMC registration
  • Design and deliver health promotion initiatives
  • Foster effective communication with managers, HR, and employees
  • Manage equipment maintenance
  • Travel between client sites in Acton and surrounding areas

What We Are Looking For

Qualifications & Experience

  • Registered Nurse (Part 1), with a postgraduate qualification in Occupational Health (Degree/Diploma)
  • Unrestricted NMC registration (if applicable)
  • Experience in occupational health case management and provision of OH advice
  • Strong understanding of data protection (GDPR) and confidentiality in occupational health

Key Skills & Traits

  • Excellent time management abilities
  • Meticulous written and oral communication skills
  • Attention to detail when handling sensitive medical data
  • Ability to assess personal competence and escalate concerns when necessary
  • IT proficient with medical systems
  • Experience in drug & alcohol testing (where relevant)
  • Conflict resolution and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

hours

We accept both full-time and part-time applications for this role, offering:

  • 22.5 to 37.5 hours per week
  • Standard working 7.5-hour shifts, Monday–Friday
  • Core hours: 8:00am – 6:00pm

Location

Based at a client site in Acton and surrounding areas, with local travel required.


Salary

Competitive, dependent on qualifications, experience, and skills.
