Occupational Health Technician (OH Technician) – FULL TRAINING PROVIDED

Ideal for those passionate about occupational health, wellbeing, and delivering high standards of service, this perimeric role demands mobility, adaptability, and a commitment to our clients’ needs.

Responsibilities

Core Duties

  • Drive a mobile medical unit (similar in size to an ambulance) or own road-worthy vehicle to provide on-site services across the UK and ensure compliance with company protocols.

  • Execute a wide range of occupational health services, including:

    • Hearing tests
    • Lung function tests
    • Skin checks
    • Hand-Arm Vibration Syndrome (HAVS) assessments
    • Vision screening
    • Job-specific medicals (e.g., Flight Lieutenant (FLT) driver assessments)
    • Drug & alcohol screening
    • Blood pressure checks
    • Wellbeing assessments
  • Travel regularly with overnight stays (4 nights/week on average), usually leaving on Monday mornings and returning Friday evenings.

  • Operate in a 24/7 environment, requiring flexibility to work shifts (early starts, evenings, nights), with the primary schedule being Monday–Friday (occasional weekends may be needed).

  • Meet targets and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) while adhering to company protocols, safety regulations, and workplace policies.

  • Deliver exceptional customer service to ensure client and employee satisfaction.

  • Maintain a positive, proactive attitude and actively support and promote the Latus Group and its policies.

Training & Development

  • Commit to continuous personal development, including:
    • Maintaining evidence of learning and progression.
    • Attending internal and external training programs.
    • Sharing knowledge with team members.
    • Developing formal qualifications as needed.
  • Work closely with the Training & Quality Manager to identify personal development needs and define improvement goals.
  • Be ready to seek additional certifications as required by current legislation.

Skills & Experience Required

Essential Qualifications

  • Full UK driver’s licence with no more than 6 penalty points.
  • Space for secure offsite parking (if assigned a mobile medical unit).

Experience & Competencies

✔ Previous experience delivering health screening services or a health and wellbeing background is highly desirable (not mandatory).

✔ Strong communication skills (able to engage with clients, employees, and colleagues effectively at all levels).

✔ Excellent customer service & client-focused approach.

✔ Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, SharePoint, Word, Excel, Teams) and bespoke.

✔ Technological literacy – ability to use PC/laptop and occupational health software.

✔ Ability to work independently and demonstrate proactiveness in decision-making.

✔ Effective time management with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet tight deadlines.

✔ Problem-solving mindset with a positive attitude.

✔ Attention to detail, particularly in data recording and documentation.
