About the Role
Health Partners is looking to hire a motivated Occupational Hygiene Technician to join a multidisciplinary team at Hinkley Point C, near Bridgwater, Somerset.
This role is ideal for a strong team player with an interest in industrial, construction, or occupational hygiene/health and environmental monitoring. You’ll work within an enthusiastic, occupational health team, proactively managing workloads while prioritising safety and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Performing occupational hygiene monitoring and surveys to assess exposures to chemical, physical, and biological agents.
- Supporting investigations and studies related to occupational hygiene risks.
- Conducting regular workplace inspections to evaluate occupational hygiene-related factors.
- Assisting with training and information delivery on occupational hygiene topics.
- Contributing to performance reporting in occupational hygiene compliance.

Requirements
- A STEM-related degree is essential.
- Ideal candidates will be:
- An affiliate member of the Faculty of Occupational Hygiene (AFOH), preferably progressing towards Certificate of Operational Competence in Occupational Hygiene (CertOH) by British Occupational Hygiene Society (BOHS) – though full training will be provided.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 and Teams.
- Desirable experience: At least three years’ working in industrial or construction environments.
Hours & Shift Work
This is a full-time role (37.5 hours/week, Monday–Friday). Due to operational needs, the successful applicant will need flexibility in covering:

🕒 Day shifts
- 8:00 am – 4:00 pm (7.5 hours/day, with 30-min unpaid lunch break)
🌃 Back shifts
- 4:00 pm – 12:00 am (7.5 hours/day, with 30-min unpaid lunch break)
🌙 Night shifts
- 7:00 pm – 5:00 am (approx. 9.5 hours/day, with 38-min unpaid lunch break, Monday–Thursday)
💰 Enhanced pay applies for out-of-standard hours work.
Location
This is an on-site position based at Health Partners’ client site, Hinkley Point C, Somerset.
Salary
A competitive salary will be offered based on qualifications and experience.
