We are currently supporting a specialist education provider in the recruitment of an experienced Occupational Therapist (Band 6) to join a highly skilled, multi-disciplinary therapy team within a well-established school setting.
This is a confidential opportunity within a specialist provision supporting children and young people with high-functioning Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), including Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) profiles, alongside associated speech, communication, sensory processing, and mental health needs.
The Role
The successful candidate will take responsibility for delivering a high-quality Occupational Therapy service across the school, working under the supervision of the Senior Occupational Therapist and Head of Therapy, and in close collaboration with the wider multidisciplinary team.

You will be part of a team of four Occupational Therapists, working alongside:
- Speech and Language Therapists
- Clinical Psychologists
- School-based crisis counsellor / pastoral lead
- Parent liaison officer
- School nurse
- Therapy assistants
The role involves daily collaboration with teaching staff to embed therapeutic approaches across the school environment, supporting a consistent ethos centred on:
- Adaptive thinking
- Communication development
- Emotional wellbeing
- Independence skills
The school also benefits from two dedicated, well-equipped Sensory Integration (SI) therapy rooms to support clinical intervention and assessment.
Candidate Requirements
Applicants must demonstrate:
- HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist
- Diploma / BSc / MSc in Occupational Therapy
- Strong interest in paediatric or neurodevelopmental practice
- Experience or interest in sensory integration approaches (desirable, with development opportunities available)
- Commitment to collaborative, multidisciplinary working within an education setting

- Band 5/6 salary: £34,592 - £39,959 FTE (Agenda for Change, subject to annual review and experience)
