Priory Hospital Arnold is an inpatient acute and psychiatric intensive care unit (PICU), for males and females struggling with a wide range of mental health conditions.

Full Time - 37.5 hours

Priory Hospital Arnold are seeking a proactive, compassionate, caring and recovery focused HCPC registered Occupational Therapist with excellent communication skills to join our existing dynamic multidisciplinary teams to be involved in holistic OT assessments and interventions to support planning and delivery of patient care.

Priory Hospital Arnold is conveniently located just outside Nottingham with excellent road links. The hospital is easily accessible by car via the A60 and nearby M1 motorway, and there is free on-site parking available for staff. It is also well served by local bus routes from Nottingham city centre, with taxi services readily available from nearby train stations.

What you'll be doing

You will join the team on our acute or PICU ward. In this role, you will play a key part in patient recovery, supporting the assessment and delivery of tailored treatment plans while ensuring dignity, respect, and high standards of care.

The post holder will be involved in clinical supervision of Occupational Therapy support staff within the team providing guidance and focus to their work, ensuring safe working practices. Professional and clinical supervision will be provided by Senior OT / OT Head of Therapy Services and the post holder will link into the wider Priory OT network and will work cooperatively with colleagues to ensure high quality service provision and gain opportunities for support and Continual Professional Development.

There will be opportunity to provide Occupational Therapy student placements in accordance with local agreements and standards and opportunity to support students from other disciplines. The post holder will liaise with a range of agencies and services.

  • Manages and coordinates the implementation of individual treatment plans for occupational therapy services ensuring treatments, activities and interventions are delivered through effective application and communication.
  • Receives and responds promptly to referrals undertaking patient assessments to identify and prioritise patient needs before planning and delivering the appropriate and relevant interventions either on an individual or group basis. Maintains accurate and timely records detailing each patient’s rehabilitation / progress.
  • Ensures the effective and efficient management of more junior staff.

What you'll bring to the role

Essential for the role – Occupational Therapist
Candidates must be HCPC registered and hold a Diploma in Occupational Therapy or a relevant degree (including honours degree, postgraduate certificate, postgraduate diploma, or Master’s pre-registration qualification in Occupational Therapy)
