Salary: Actual £28,769.10 - £50,219.20 (Benchmarked to NHS Band 5 scale point 19 – NHS band 7 scale point 36), depending on experience.
Location: St Dominic’s School, Hambledon, GU8 4DX
Working Pattern: Full time, 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday, Term time only
St Dominic’s School is a highly regarded special school in Surrey, set within 56 acres of serene, wooded grounds offering plenty of space for recreational activities. The school caters to pupils and Sixth Form students aged 7 to 19, supporting a diverse range of academic abilities and complex needs.
Our school is proud to offer a comprehensive range of in-house therapeutic services, including Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Sensory Integration, all delivered by a team of qualified professionals. This extensive therapeutic support ensures that each student can access the curriculum at a level that suits their individual needs, helping them reach their full potential. Additionally, we provide purpose-built medical facilities with qualified nursing staff on site every day.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and strongly motivated individual to join our experienced team providing intensive specialist support for pupils and students. We seek an Occupational Therapist who wants to develop their career, skills, and knowledge in a specialist educational setting.
This is a unique opportunity to develop clinical skills within an educational environment, offering the chance to work collaboratively with a range of professionals and to use therapeutic skills creatively to meet the needs of pupils and students. Key Responsibilities:
- To be responsible for the Occupational Therapy provision across the waking day curriculum.
- To be accountable as a member of a multi-disciplinary team for pupil outcomes.
- To be responsible for maintaining and improving school standards.
- To ensure that pupils have the fullest possible access to the whole curriculum.
- To aim to ensure pupils achieve their full potential.
- To further the holistic development of the pupil, including functional life skills.

Key Requirements:
- Degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent with licence to practice.
- Member of the College of Occupational Therapists.
- Member of the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Post-graduate qualification and experience in Sensory Integration, Levels 1 & 2.
- Understanding of a wide range of physical, perceptual, and sensory difficulties associated with ASD, SLCN, and associated behaviours.
- Knowledge of a range of standardised and functional assessment tools relevant to the client group.
