Role Overview
We are looking for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist wishing to take their next steps on the career ladder and looking for a new challenge. The individual needs to be proactive and enthusiastic and will be joining the Acute Respiratory and Rehab Team at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
Responsibilities
The post holder, working as part of an integrated team, will work as an autonomous practitioner to provide a high standard of intervention across the speciality.
- Provide highly specialist assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients within the wide variety of acute medical and surgical wards.
- Work alongside colleagues as an independent practitioner in applying a high level of clinical reasoning to ensure individualized, proactive, and holistic assessment and treatment planning.
- Support and develop rotational Band 5 therapists.
- Supervise therapy support staff and educate therapy students on placement.
- Be actively involved in relevant quality improvement projects to develop the Acute Medicine team.

This full-time post is for an 8-month fixed term, supporting the team during a maternity leave.

As a member of both the integrated rehabilitation service and the multidisciplinary teams on the wards, excellent skills in communication are essential.
