About the Role

Are you an Occupational Therapist Assistant looking to work for a company that supports, values, and recognises your dedication to delivering great healthcare? If so, this might be the right opportunity for you.

Operating under the supervision of an Occupational Theraprist, you will support the service in delivering structured activities and assist in planning individual and group therapeutic interventions. By building one-to-one relationships with service users, you will encourage participation in activities and empower recovery.

As part of this role, you will:

  • Contribute to the assessment, monitoring, evaluation, and modification of structured activities to measure progression and ensure effectiveness.
  • Work within a multidisciplinary team, supported regionally with access to training and career development opportunities.

The shift pattern is:

  • First week (Mon, Tue, Sat, Sun): 9:15 AM – 8:30 PM
  • Second week (Tue, Wed, Thu): 9:15 AM – 8:30 PM (32-minute break included)

Total weekly hours: 37.5


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Occupational Therapists, Nurses, and other MDT staff in:
    • The assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of individual care plans.
  • Support service users to achieve their goals and access appropriate services.
  • Maintain adequate records and enter details into service user healthcare records.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, candidates must have:

  • GCSE/O-Levels (grades A-C) or a relevant NVQ Level 2.
  • Experience in a similar environment, preferably within Mental Health.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Where You’ll Work

Location: Emerald Place Clinic, Farmfield Drive, Charlwood, Horley, RH6 0NB

Emerald Place Clinic is a general adolescent inpatient unit providing care and treatment for young people aged 13 to 18. Admitted patients will have:

  • Primary diagnoses of mental illness, spanning mood disorders and acute psychosis.
  • Possible co-existing additional needs, such as:
    • Neurodevelopmental disorders.
    • Mild learning disabilities.
    • Autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
    • Disordered eating.

The clinic is in a remote area with limited public transport options, so applicants must have reliable transport to commute.
