Your Role – Band 5 Occupational Therapist
Salary: Starting from £32,883 per year (increasing after preceptorship)
Service Line
- Male Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit
- Male Acute Mental Health
- Male High Dependency Rehabilitation
Summary Of The Site
Cygnet Joyce Parker Hospital is our emergency mental health hospital in Coventry. The service supports adults across three wards to move as quickly and safely as possible to the most appropriate and least restrictive environment for them. The hospital currently includes two male PICU wards and one male Acute ward. In addition, the hospital has a fourth ward consisting of a male high dependency unit.
Our model of care promotes a collaborative approach whereby family, service users, commissioners and carers are all involved in the rehabilitation and recovery of the individual. There is a dedicated clinical team on each ward, who provide multi-disciplinary input including occupational therapy, psychology, psychiatry, and nursing staff.
We are currently looking for an Occupational Therapist to join our Occupational Therapy Team to support recovery and rehabilitation activities in the integrated care pathway at Cygnet.
In this role you will assess, implement and develop an OT treatment programme according to service user’s diagnosis and identified needs. This will be based upon findings from assessments including associated risks, in order to develop treatment plans accordingly.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
