About The Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Band 5 Occupational Therapist to join our North Northamptonshire Therapy Team. The role will be working across our Community Therapy Team, with this post based within the Specialist Moving and Handling Team.
As a Newly Qualified Occupational Therapist within a Specialist Moving and Handling Team you will deliver holistic, person-centred assessments, completing comprehensive interventions focused on safe moving and handling and providing tailored care recommendations and equipment solutions.
Based in the north of the county, you will work primarily with people with physical disabilities. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a Band 5 Occupational Therapist to gain valuable community experience, with strong support and development opportunities from the wider team.
What will you be doing?
- We take a holistic approach and complete occupational therapy assessments, with a focus on promoting independence and choice to support people to live well for longer whilst reducing, where possible, the need for hospitalization or long-term residential care.
- We take a collaborative approach to care, working with the person and their care provider to ensure they receive the right amount of care and therapy in the correct environment, at the right time.
- We involve and encourage the person to engage in activities to achieve their goals and facilitate safe and appropriate interventions to maximise independence.
- We undertake a person-centred assessment of moving and handling needs and support carers with expert advice and guidance on manual handing cases to improve the quality of care within North Northamptonshire.
