Paediatric Occupational Therapist (Upper Primary & Secondary)
Role Summary
Permanent, Full-Time Monday to Friday (08:30am – 17:00pm) Annual Salary: Competitive Market Rate (dependent on experience) To Start: November 2026
We are seeking a motivated Paediatric Occupational Therapist, experienced in Sensory Integration, to join a specialised team supporting children with speech, language, and communication difficulties. This role requires a passionate individual who thrives in an environment where therapy and education integrate seamlessly, with a focus on transdisciplinary approaches.
About the Role
As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will:
- Provide integrated therapy and teaching throughout the school week
- Work closely with teaching staff, OT department, physiotherapists, specialist SPLD teachers, and Art Therapists
- Focus on enhancing the learning and development of children with sensory, emotional, and communication difficulties
- Support the “bloossoming” of students despite challenges through structured, holistic interventions

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver occupational therapy interventions tailored for upper primary and secondary-aged children
- Specialize in Sensory Integration with a total communication approach
- Collaborate with speech and language therapists (SLT), physiotherapists, and clinical specialists
- Create and implement therapy programmes, including annualised treatment plans
- Conduct clinical assessments and use standardised tools for measurement
- Educate and support teaching staff in applying therapeutic strategies within lessons
- Build strong relationships with students, parents, carers, and colleagues
- Champion positive behaviour management within a nurturing environment
Requirements & Qualities
- Essential:
- Additional training in Sensory Integration
- Proven experience in paediatric occupational therapy
- Demonstrated mental and physical resilience for challenging and demanding work
- Confidence, enthusiasm for lifelong learning, and a people-focused approach
- Ability to integrate SLT goals with educational practices
- Strong relationship-building skills (students, parents, and educational teams)
- Expertise in clinical assessment, treatment planning, and paediatric-focused therapeutic programmes
- Independent and analytical (familiarity with standardised tests and clinical observation)
