Liquid Personnel is recruiting an experienced Occupational Therapist to join its client’s Children with Disabilities (CWD) Team based in Tameside. This is a full-time agency role offering the opportunity to support children and young people with complex needs to achieve greater independence, safety, and participation within their home and community environments.
The Role
As an Occupational Therapist within the Children with Disabilities Team, you will deliver specialist assessments and interventions to improve outcomes for children and their families. A key focus of the role is undertaking housing and environmental assessments and supporting the recommendation and delivery of home adaptations to meet complex needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake specialist Occupational Therapy assessments for children with disabilities.
- Assess home environments and identify required adaptations.
- Complete and support Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) applications.
- Work closely with the Home Improvement Agency (HIA).
- Collaborate with surveyors and caseworkers to design suitable adaptations.
- Provide professional recommendations to support DFG decision-making.
- Work effectively across multi-agency teams, including social care, health, and education services.
- Manage a varied and complex caseload.
- Deliver person-centred, outcome-focused interventions.
- Support families throughout the adaptation process, from assessment through to completion.

Requirements
- HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist.
- Experience working within paediatric services or Children with Disabilities teams.
- Strong knowledge of Disabled Facilities Grants (DFG) processes and housing adaptations.
- Experience working within complex multi-agency environments.
- Excellent communication, assessment, and report-writing skills.
- Ability to manage a varied caseload independently.
- Strong clinical reasoning and decision-making skills.
