Join the team at Barnet Lane Clinic as a Senior Occupational Therapist and play a vital role in delivering engaging, recovery-focused therapeutic programmes that make a genuine difference to patients every day.
At Barnet Lane Clinic, you will provide an Occupational Therapy service centred around activities that meet the individual needs of service users, supporting them on their recovery journey through meaningful engagement and therapeutic intervention. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to the ongoing development of the Occupational Therapy service while helping to create a positive and stimulating environment for patients.
In this varied and rewarding role, you will support the planning and facilitation of group activities and outings, prepare materials and resources, assist patients in accessing activities, and contribute to the wider activities programme. You will work closely with colleagues to monitor patient participation and progress, providing regular feedback to the Occupational Therapist and supporting person-centred care delivery.
You will also take responsibility for maintaining a safe and organised therapeutic environment, ensuring equipment and materials are managed appropriately and all activities are delivered in line with health and safety standards. Alongside administrative responsibilities, you will attend regular supervision sessions and contribute to the continued improvement of therapeutic practices within the service.

Key Result Areas
Service provision
- To deliver a group activities programme in conjunction with colleagues.
- To provide appropriate reports on assessment treatment and progress of all patients as necessary.
- To contribute and provide professional feedback, liaison to clinical teams and associated disciplines.
- To assist in the development of Occupational Therapy Documentation.
- To assist with and in, staff appraisal, where appropriate.
- To assist with in-service, field work training programmes as agreed.
- To be involved in the development of quality standards for the service.
- To act as a professional role model.
Supervision
- To supervise the working practices of junior staff.
- To supervise in-house, and students on placement where appropriate.
Evaluation
- To be involved in the monitoring and evaluation of service programmes of activities.
- To be involved in the monitoring and evaluation of delegated activities.
- To audit documentation.
- To audit quality standards for the service.
- To ensure that all patients have the appropriate treatment programme.
- To ensure that personal supervision, professional, and development needs are met.

Barnet Lane’s Complex Care and Recovery Service (CCRS) is a highly specialised, bespoke inpatient adult service designed to support individuals whose needs exceed the scope of traditional inpatient service models. The service specialises in treating patients who have experienced multiple or prolonged admissions, stalled discharge pathways, or who have been unable to progress within conventional care environments.
