Occupational Therapist (Acute Care & Rehabilitation)
About the Role
Join our dynamic team to provide comprehensive occupational therapy services within acute care and rehabilitation settings. You’ll conduct patient assessments, develop tailored treatment plans, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to enhance patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct patient evaluations and tailor treatment plans for adults across acute care and rehabilitation environments
- Collaborate with physicians, caregivers, and interdisciplinary teams to support recovery and mobility
- Prescribe therapeutic equipment and recommend minor environmental adaptations
- Introduce adaptive aids to improve activities of daily living (ADL)
- Maintain detailed patient records and provide progress updates to caregivers and physicians
- Offer consultation services to external agencies and caregivers
- Monitor care plans, adjust treatments as needed, and manage client discharges
- Track workload statistics, participate in quality improvement initiatives, and attend professional development activities
- Work across Belleville, Trenton, and Picton hospital locations

Requirements
- Current registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (or provisional eligibility).
- Minimum of 200 hours of direct OT patient care experience—within the last 12 months—focusing on neurological and/or orthopaedic conditions (student placements may count).
- Ability to handle a physically demanding workload, including:
- Lifting (required occasionally)
- Carrying/pushing/pulling (required rarely)
- Standing/walking (required frequently)
- Balancing (required often)
- Fine motor tasks (gripping, grasping)
