Occupational Therapist - SG

Skills

Are you an Occupational Therapist keen to take on the challenge of further developing your clinical and leadership skills? Have you ever considered working in mental health? If so, this job is for you:

We are looking for an individual to join our Specialist team to further develop this post within our service. We hope you will relish the opportunity to enhance and shape our service for the future through using your skills and experience to meet the needs of people in Fife.

Our dedicated team of Occupational Therapists and healthcare support workers work with the people of Fife aged 65 years and over who are experiencing mental health problems. The posts are based in a variety of locations in order to contribute to and oversee delivery of Occupational Therapy within both community and in-patient settings, and to ensure agility to prioritise clinical risk and demand across the Mental Health Occupational Therapy Service.

We are keen to hear from both existing Band 6 Occupational Therapists, and Band 5 Occupational Therapists looking to make the next step in their career, who possess the skills, knowledge, and interest to develop professionally and make a positive impact within the field of mental health.

The post will offer you the opportunity to work with a wide range of patients using effective and autonomous clinical decision-making and evidence-based practices to enable patients to achieve their personal outcomes.

We are a service that is forward-thinking and dynamic and are always striving to improve our services for our patients and staff. We are currently engaging in a programme of transformational change and development in line with national and local strategy, standards, and priorities for Mental Health and Occupational Therapy services. You would be actively involved in service redesign work and would be a key part of re-shaping the way Occupational Therapy services are developed and delivered in Fife.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
