Occupational Therapist - South East Locality Office

Occupational Therapist – Fixed Term until 23/06/2027

Location: South East Locality Hours: Full-time – 36 per week


About the Role

We are seeking a full-time Occupational Therapist to join the South East Community Occupational Therapy team in Edinburgh.

Are you enthusiastic, motivated, and skilled in assessment and care management? Do you enjoy supporting individuals in the community by helping them live safely and independently at home? If so, you could join our supportive team in the South East Locality.

Key Responsibilities

Your role will include:

  • Conducting assessments and having meaningful conversations with people living in the community
  • Collaborating with Social Workers, Community Care Assistants, and Health Professionals to promote a multi-disciplinary approach to enabling individuals to live well at home
  • Promoting and facilitating best practice manual handling, including:
    • Risk assessment
    • Providing care plans
  • Assessing, prescribing, and reviewing the provision of:
    • Equipment
    • Minor and major adaptations
    • Supportive services
    • Ensuring this aligns with good practice guidelines and Council policies

Requirements

Essential Qualifications & Registration

  • Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy, recognised by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
  • Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council

Pre-Employment Checks

As this role involves regulated work with children and/or vulnerable adults, the following checks will apply:

  • PVG Scheme membership (or update if previously registered) If you have spent 3+ months continuously outside the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will also be required.
  • Unconditional offer of employment and post commencement is subject to passing these safeguarding checks.

Salary Structure

  • Range: £40,501 – £47,639
  • Annual increments will bring your salary to the top of the range.
