Job Opportunity: Specialist Occupational Therapists

Do you have a strong interest in working with children and young people, their families, and schools? Do you want to be part of a new service within Hertfordshire?

Hertfordshire Community Trust has an exciting opportunity for dynamic individuals to support children and young people, their families, and schools within the Experts at Hand Model.

We are looking for 4.5 WTE Band 6 Specialist Occupational Therapists to bring skills and experience of working within schools. The successful candidates will join a large and innovative team of therapists and assistants working within our community service.

Proposed Interview Date: 27th July 2026

You will work closely with the MDT and other agencies to deliver universal and targeted advice and support to children, young people, and their families in a variety of school settings.

The Ideal Candidate Will

  • Maintain a high degree of professionalism when working in settings with a highly emotive atmosphere with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Be flexible in their approach and have resilience under pressure.
  • Work both in a team environment and autonomously.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of working with children, young people, families, and schools.
  • Have a high level of understanding of the English school systems.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of SEND reforms.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and experience of implementing reasonable adjustments and inclusive practices.
  • Demonstrate Neuroaffirmitive practices.
