Occupational Therapist

Location: Hambridge
Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Setting: Specialist School

About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Occupational Therapist to join a supportive multidisciplinary team within a specialist school based in Hambridge.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference to the lives of children and young people by helping them develop the skills they need to achieve their full potential both in the classroom and beyond.

Working within an educational setting, you will provide high-quality occupational therapy assessments, interventions, and support tailored to the individual needs of pupils with a range of additional learning needs, developmental conditions, and sensory processing differences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct occupational therapy assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Deliver direct and indirect therapeutic interventions to pupils.
  • Support students with sensory integration, fine motor skills, self-care, emotional regulation, and functional independence.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, parents, and external professionals.
  • Provide training and guidance to school staff on therapeutic strategies and best practice.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and reports in line with professional standards.
  • Contribute to Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and annual reviews.
  • Support the development of a therapeutic and inclusive learning environment.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A recognised degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Experience working with children and young people, ideally within education, SEND, or specialist settings.
  • Strong assessment, communication, and report-writing skills.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • A person-centred and solution-focused approach.

Desirable

  • Experience of sensory integration approaches.
  • Knowledge of autism spectrum conditions, ADHD, learning disabilities, or complex communication needs.
  • Previous experience working within a school or educational environment.
