Job Overview

Come and Join Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust, where we offer a wide variety of challenging and rewarding roles within a supportive, innovative and dynamic work environment!

Calling all budding or existing Occupational Therapy Assistants!

Mental Health Services for Older People (MHSOP) Community Occupational Therapy Service is expanding!

We have a part time (22.5 hours) Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) Band 3 posts available in Melton and Rutland. We are very excited to be able to offer these opportunities to new or existing OTAs. To cover the work pattern of Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays.

The role of an OTA is a hugely rewarding and diverse career. You will be assisting our lovely team of Occupational Therapists and Assistants, supporting and encouraging our patients in their recovery journey and delivering person-centred interventions in a wide range of local community settings as well as the patient’s own homes.

As you will be working on your own within patients homes, it is essential you have experience in healthcare. You will also be caring and encouraging, have great communication skills and be able to demonstrate qualities such as compassion, initiative and most of all be able to work as part of a team! Successful candidates will have a knowledge of mental health conditions relevant to MHSOP’s patient group and an understanding of the role of Occupational Therapy and how this supports a person’s health and well-being.

The Occupational Therapy service is delivered very much as part of a multi-disciplinary team and post holders will be working alongside other mental health professionals to deliver integrated care which is very much in collaboration with the patient and their wider care network. The successful candidates will be working under the supervision of a qualified Occupational Therapist as well as alongside other OTA’s within the service.

The MHSOP Community Occupational Therapy Service provides a range of training and career development opportunities including access to the apprenticeship programmes, subject to funding applications and suitability. As a service we also offer regular clinical and management supervision as well as a yearly appraisal and encourage attendance to regular wellbeing events.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
