About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Ocean Export Coordinator to join our ocean freight team based in Ashby de la Zouch.
This critical role focuses on managing end-to-end ocean export shipments, ensuring efficient, cost-effective delivery solutions while providing excellent customer service. You will act as the primary point of contact for customers, coordinating shipments, resolving issues proactively, and maintaining strong relationships across both internal teams and external partners.

The role offers:
- A competitive salary between £30,000–£33,000 per annum (depending on experience)
- A hybrid working model
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Ocean Export Supervisor, your core duties will include:
- Managing and coordinating ocean export bookings from order through to delivery
- Monitoring shipment status and client expectations while adhering to company policy and regulatory compliance
- Collaborating with internal teams and external partners to ensure cost control, accurate charging of duties, VAT, and fees, along with precision in documentation and system updates
- Acting as the primary customer contact, handling quotations, enquiries, requests, and complaints with a solutions-focused approach
- Identifying opportunities for growth and contribution to team KPIs and continuous improvement initiatives
- Providing support to the Ocean Export Supervisor on additional tasks as needed
Requirements & Skills
To thrive in this role, you must have: ✅ Proven experience in ocean exports, previously working within a freight or logistics operation ✅ Strong knowledge of freight forwarding processes, with a particular focus on sea freight activities ✅ Exceptional customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively, solve problems, and build strong working relationships ✅ IT literacy, including proficiency in MS Office packages and freight-based systems (CargoWise experience is a desirable but not essential advantage)
