'Ocean Export Freight Forwarder

YOUR ROLE

We are looking for a dynamic and skilled Ocean Export Freight Forwarder to join our ocean freight team in Ashby de la Zouch.

This role plays a critical part in managing end-to-end ocean export shipments, ensuring efficient, cost-effective delivery solutions while providing excellent customer service. You will act as the key point of contact for customers, coordinating shipments, resolving issues proactively, and maintaining strong working relationships across the business and external partners.

This amazing role offers a salary between £30,000 to £33,000 per annum dependant on experience, and an opportunity to work hybrid.

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

Reporting into the Ocean Export Supervisor, you will focus on managing and coordinating ocean export bookings from order through to delivery, monitoring shipment status and client expectations adhering to company policy and regulatory compliance. You will coordinate transport and services with internal teams and external partners, ensuring cost control, accurate charging of duties, VAT and fees and precise documentation and system updates.

You will act as the primary point of contact for assigned customers, handling quotations, enquiries, requests and complaints with a solutions focused approach as well as identifying opportunities for growth.

You will also support the Ocean Export Supervisor with any additional tasks, contributing to team KPIs and continuous improvement initiatives.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

To be successful in your application you will have proven ocean exports experience previously working within a freight or logistics operation. You will have strong knowledge of freight forwarding processes in particular sea freight activities.

It goes without saying that you will be a natural communicator and problem solver with excellent customer service skills and the ability to build strong working relationships at all levels.

You will need to be IT literate able to use MS Office packages and freight based systems, it would be desirable, however not essential if you have CargoWise experience.
