What You Can Expect
Ocean Product Strategy
- Drive the commercial and product strategy by supporting the Country Product Manager and the commercial department.
- Support the change process into a product-led organisation.
- Translate and adapt global ocean freight strategies to fit local market conditions and operational realities with the goal of leading commercial actions and guiding sales teams on focus lanes, target accounts, and pricing strategies.
- Actively monitor gross margin and profitability per trade, customer, and product with the goal of expanding margins, optimizing costs, and upselling services.
- Ensure compliance to the Global FCL and LCL Adherence Policies.
Ocean Pricing Strategy
- Own pricing responsibility for product requests, including RFQs and tender management requests.
- Ensure product tariff framework is up to date and uploaded into Rhenus global pricing tool.
- Ensure accurate pricing is provided to sales staff and the customer, including follow-up.
- Support sales staff by negotiating with customers to secure additional opportunities.
- Manage low margin lanes and customers and develop a strategic plan to increase the profitability of these opportunities.
- Work independently using analytical skills to determine the correct process to build accurate pricing and increase the profitability for each customer.
- Communicate customer agreement status to customers, sales, and operations.
- Manage annual price increase process.
- Understand the complexities of different pricing structures and continuously look for opportunities to improve processes.

What You Bring
- Minimum 3 years of experience in an ocean product or ocean pricing role, as well as 3-5 years within the industry preferred.
- Service-minded and with a high degree of ownership and customer-focus.
- Proactive and capable of handling responsibility without needing to be micromanaged.
- Familiarity with bid processes and practices.
- Complete understanding of pricing.
- Ability to work independently.
- Self-starter mentality.
- Outgoing personality; strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Able to communicate well in English, both spoken and written.
- Strong analytical and negotiation skills and hands-on attitude.
- Able to multitask in a deadline-driven work environment without losing attention to detail.
- Be results-driven and persistent in meeting day-to-day challenges and goals.
- Passion for identifying how to constantly improve.
- Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and especially deep Excel knowledge (formulas, lookups); CRM experience preferred.
- Positive attitude, and a friendly and professional manner when dealing with colleagues and customers over the phone and via E-Mail.
