Job Title: Ocean Imports Operator

Location: Manchester

Salary: Up to £38,000 + Benefits (DOE)

A leading global freight forwarder in Manchester is hiring an Ocean Imports Operator to manage high-volume deep-sea import consignments from origin booking straight through to UK delivery. If you want operational autonomy, excellent stability, and strong international growth potential, this is for you.

What You’ll Do:

  • Run the Desk: Take complete ownership of ocean import files (FCL & LCL) across international trade lanes.
  • Master Compliance: Prepare and process crucial customs entries, import documentation, and Bills of Lading in line with regulations.
  • Coordinate Supply Chains: Work alongside ocean carriers, overseas agents, and domestic hauliers to secure rates and optimize transit times.
  • Manage Key Accounts: Act as the primary advisor for client accounts, delivering real-time milestone updates and resolving route bottlenecks.
  • Protect File Profitability: Oversee job costing, approve supplier charges, and handle accurate client invoicing.
