OEM Sales Engineer

OEM Sales Engineer – Global Leader in Bearings & Motion Technology

About the Role

Visum Recruitment are representing a global leader in bearings and motion technology, seeking an experienced, commercially driven OEM Sales Engineer for a full-time, permanent position.

In this key role, you will develop new OEM business opportunities while managing a portfolio of strategic customer accounts across the UK and Ireland. Collaborating closely with customers, you’ll deliver technical solutions, drive sales growth, and establish long-term, strategic partnerships within the industrial sector.

Job Overview

  • Sales Growth & Market Expansion: Develop and grow sales, margin and market share across a portfolio of OEM customers.
  • New Business Acquisition: Identify, qualify and secure new OEM business opportunities, converting prospects into long-term customers.
  • Key Account Management: Manage and develop key customer relationships, ensuring high levels of service and satisfaction.
  • Sales Cycle Leadership: From opportunity identification to project completion and ongoing account management.
  • Commercial Negotiation: Negotiate commercial agreements and secure pricing to meet sales and margin objectives.
  • Technical Support Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams (engineering, customer service, supply chain) to deliver solutions.
  • Salesforce CRM Management: Maintain an active sales pipeline and track opportunities within Salesforce.
  • Technical Sales Delivery: Create and deliver technical presentations, providing product/application advice to customers.

Requirements

  • Education: Degree (or equivalent) in an engineering or related discipline.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ technical sales experience in bearings, power transmission, rotating equipment, or a similar industrial sector.
  • Achievements: Proven record of winning new business and growing key accounts.
  • Commercial & Negotiation Skills: Strong business acumen, negotiation abilities, and relationship-building experience.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Ability to engage with shop-floor operatives to board-level executives.
  • Technical Project Management: Experience managing technical sales projects and delivering engineered solutions.
  • Mobility: Full UK driving licence; willingness to travel throughout the UK and Ireland.

Salary & Benefits

  • Base Salary: Circa £55,000
  • Bonus: Performance-related
