The Role
BTG Pactual is looking for candidates (Undergraduate/Masters/MBA/Post-Graduates) to join the Special Situations Opportunistic Credit team in London for an off-cycle internship from September 2026 onwards. The internship duration will be between 3 to 6 months, to be finalised during the hiring process. The team has a strong track record in distressed and special situations globally and is expanding following strong performance.
Role Responsibilities
- Assist senior members with evaluating public and private investment opportunities across industries and regions;
- Conduct investment due diligence, including in-depth review of financial reports, due diligence reports, and engagement with sell-side, buy-side, and management teams;
- Perform financial analysis, including detailed financial modelling, data collection/analysis, and sensitivity/scenario testing
- Prepare Investment Screening Notes, Investment Committee Memos, and assist senior members with presenting ideas in Investment Committees
- Engage in asset management activities, including monitoring existing public and private investments and updating financial models based on reporting from invested companies;
- Assist senior members in building and tracking relationships with sponsors and other external parties.

Skills & Experience
- A minimum of 18 months of relevant work experience in:
- Private Credit
- Special Situations
- Private Equity
- Distressed Credit
- Investment Banking (Leveraged Finance or M&A)
- Strong oral and written English skills
- Other European languages are a bonus
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field
- Strong desire to learn, be proactive, and work well in a team environment
- Intellectual curiosity, an innovative spirit, and a can-do mentality
- Act with integrity, accountability, and responsibility
- Hardworking and hands-on to deliver excellent results
