Location: Burton-on-Trent Salary: £26,221 per annum

Franks Portlock is a UKAS accredited, leading asbestos consultancy company, specialising in asbestos and environmental testing, asbestos surveys, and consultancy. We have over a decade of experience in asbestos surveying, sample analysis, air testing, four-stage clearance testing, and have expanded rapidly over the past few years.

The Role

The purpose of this Administrator role is to assist the Regional Manager in the ongoing growth of the business, supporting them with office operations, delivering excellent customer service, and producing client reports within the required deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receptionist duties as the first point of contact for customer enquiries, providing excellent customer service while resolving queries efficiently.
  • Scheduling and arranging client appointments through direct liaison.
  • Logging customer enquiries into the in-house system.
  • Supporting the Regional Manager in assigning works for Asbestos Analysts and Surveyors daily.
  • Completing and sending asbestos reports (training provided).
  • Using software, such as:
    • In-house databases
    • Microsoft Word
    • Microsoft Excel
    • Microsoft Outlook To produce correspondence, documents, and maintain records.
  • Filing, photocopying, scanning and general admin tasks.
  • Ordering and maintaining stationery, consumables, and office equipment, along with distribution of supplies.
  • Organising accommodation arrangements.
  • On occasion, booking bulk samples for analytical laboratory testing.
  • Performing ad-hoc administrative duties as required.
  • Creating letters and communication materials for client correspondence.
  • Preparing daily reports.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

-Experience and knowledge of the asbestos industry or work within an environmental consultancy is essential.

  • At least 2 years' experience in an office or administrative role is essential.
  • Experience in customer service, report construction, appointment booking, diary management, and scheduling is required.
  • It is advantageous (but not essential) to have experience with CAD.
  • A strong understanding of administrative support and managing a manager.
