Role Purpose
An Office Manager position has become available at St. Michael’s rural primary school.
This role involves providing and managing administrative support to ensure the school delivers excellent services to pupils and parents/carers. Key responsibilities include ensuring effective administrative services, meeting local priorities, and maintaining policies and standards.
Hours:

35 per week

Term-time only (40 weeks plus 5.05 weeks annual leave, increasing after 5 years’ service)

Salary structured as a 37-hour role, prorated (short-term, 12-month fixed-term).

Key Requirements
Experience working in an administrative role within a school is preferred but not essential.

Essential:
- Ability to build meaningful relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
- Proficiency in maths and English.
- Commitment to the school’s Christian values of Love, Honesty, Forgiveness & Respect.
- Understanding of safeguarding in schools.
- Positive, professional approach aligned with school values and image.
- Ability to meet high expectations for administrative support.
Responsibilities
Ensure effective support contributing to school priorities:
- Organise comprehensive administrative support for staff.
- Monitor and manage the local budget for administrative services, maintaining accurate expenditure records.
- Maintain supplies, procure office stock as needed to ensure smooth operations.
- Attend and contribute to meetings, plus follow action points.
- Support project and development work linked to school initiatives.
- Oversee admin workflows, collaborating with stakeholders to improve systems and services.
- Attend staff meetings, supervision/training as required (including annual performance appraisal reviews).
- Work with the Caretaker on property/facilities maintenance and security.
