Offshore Service Technician

Service Technician Role – Global Offshore Windfarm Support


About the Role

As part of the Service UK team in North East Scotland, you will support our offshore windfarms (Moray East Green Shift). Reporting to the SOV (Service Operations Vessel) Shift Manager, you’ll work in a targeted team, ensuring windfarms remain operational through systematic fault-finding, efficient servicing, and high standards of quality and safety.

Location: North East of Scotland (2 weeks on, 2 weeks off)

Shift: 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off from a Service Operations Vessel (SOV)


Key Responsibilities

In alignment with Vestas’ Quality, HSE (Health, Safety & Environment), and Operational Procedures, your typical duties include:

  • Compliance with Vestas’ HSE, Quality, and Operational procedures
  • Maintenance & servicing of offshore electrical and mechanical systems
  • Troubleshooting & diagnostics of electrical/mechanical faults
  • Daily monitoring of operations and remote fault-finding via online systems
  • Utilisation of Vestas’ ERP system (SAP) for:
    • Raising work orders, NCRs (Non-Conformances), quality cases, and learning opportunities
    • Recording time, materials, consumables, and quality findings

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

  • Professional experience in offshore environments with electrical or mechanical systems
  • Applicable qualifications (electrical/mechanical/marine engineering):
    • NVQ Level 4
    • HNC/HND
    • Bachelor’s Degree
    • City & Guilds (C&G) technical certification
  • Good written and spoken English skills
  • Hold a full, valid driver’s license

  • Working Conditions: You’ll be operating on a 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off rota from a Service Operations Vessel (SOV)
