Overhead Line (OHL) Design Engineer

UK | Hybrid or remote working Available
Competitive Salary + Bonus + Excellent Benefits

ARCA Consulting is proud to be partnered with a leading engineering consultancy within the UK power and utilities sector as they continue to expand their specialist engineering team. Due to sustained growth and an exciting pipeline of transmission and distribution projects, we're looking to recruit an Overhead Line (OHL) Design Engineer to support the delivery of high-voltage overhead line projects across the UK.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly respected organisation delivering critical infrastructure projects that support the UK's transition to a more sustainable energy network. You'll work alongside experienced engineers on projects ranging from 132kV to 400kV, with genuine opportunities for career progression, professional development, and involvement in nationally significant projects.

The Role

As an Overhead Line Design Engineer, you'll play a key role in producing high-quality engineering designs for transmission and distribution projects, ensuring solutions are safe, efficient, and fully compliant with industry standards.

Working within a multidisciplinary engineering team, you'll contribute throughout the project lifecycle—from initial design through to technical support during construction.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
