OHL Performance Improvement Analyst

OHL Performance Improvement Analyst – Overhead Lines – Strategic Planning

We are looking for an OHL Performance Improvement Analyst to join our Overhead Lines – Strategic Planning team!

You will support the OHL performance and improvement programme across end-to-end processes, leading targeted performance improvement activities that address key issues within Asset Operations. The OHL Performance Improvement Analyst will apply creative problem-solving techniques, conduct root cause analysis to embed sustainable change, enhance organisational efficiency, and inform decision-making through effective data analysis.

What You’ll Do

  • Demonstrates and role models new ways of working and mindsets

  • Uses project management tools and methods to deliver on time, cost, and quality

  • Leads process improvement initiatives using structured methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma)

  • Plans, designs, and delivers improvement activities to achieve agreed outcomes

  • Supports the coordination and facilitation of workshops, bringing the right expertise together to enable successful outcomes

  • Builds strong relationships with ET colleagues, living the National Grid values:

  • Supports the development and implementation of performance measures for Overhead Lines Asset Operations

  • Contributes to the strategic performance improvement roadmap, including priorities, benefits, and delivery plans


What You’ll Have

  • Demonstrable stakeholder management experience, including collaborating across departments to implement change
  • HNC or equivalent in a relevant discipline. A minimum of 2 years’ experience in performance improvement and/or change management – Qualifications from PRINCE2, MSP, APM, PMI, CIPD, Six Sigma, or equivalent, previous experience using process mapping software
  • Experience working with data, performance measures, and key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Ability to illic interpret and articulate business needs, ensuring they are agreed and approved
  • Familiarity with Six Sigma practices
  • Experience in project management and delivery, familiar with agile delivery concepts
  • Excellent MS Office skills
  • Confident and can-do attitude, willing to help all team members and lead knowledge sharing sessions
  • Highly organised, proactive, able to prioritise workload and work efficiently under tight deadlines and pressure
  • Practical problem-solving skills and excellent communication, with experience working with multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and complexity, self-driven, and committed to delivering high-quality work
  • Detail-oriented, producing high-quality output and thinking
