Talent Manager (TM) - Europe ACG Talent Management

About the Role

The Talent Manager (TM) plays a pivotal role in supporting the Europe ACG (Advanced Client Group) Talent Management Team. This core function involves delivering high-quality staffing, consultant development, performance management, and related processes, either for a single practice or large sub-teams—in alignment with business needs.

In partnership with other Talent Managers, practice stakeholders, consultants, and internal teams (Recruiting, Human Capital, Learning & Development, Finance), the TM acts as a trusted advisor, balancing business demands with individual growth opportunities to drive strong staffing and talent outcomes.

  • Reports to the Head of ACG Talent Management (no direct supervisory responsibility)
  • Daily interactions with Talent Managers, Practice leadership, Consultants, Partners, and internal teams

Role Contribution & Success Metrics

This role directly contributes to team success through:

  • Strategic staffing decisions: Balance project needs, consultant capabilities, development priorities, and availability
  • Proactive talent management: Support a TM Lead and practice stakeholders by identifying capacity gaps, performance trends, or engagement issues early
  • Collaborative governance: Strengthen One Team culture through transparency, constructive problem-solving, and cross-border information-sharing

Core Responsibilities

Staffing & Capacity Management

  • Act as a go-to staffing expert for the Consulting pipeline, business priorities, and talent insights
  • Partners with TMs, Partners, and project leaders to align staffing requirements and resolve challenges effectively
  • Metrics of success: Efficient project staffing, healthy capacity utilization, minimized avoidable escalations, and clear visibility of consultant availability

Performance & Development Support

  • Gain deep understanding of consultant skills, aspirations, and development needs
  • Assist with performance reviews, feedback discussions, and career planning (e.g., preparing for Career Reviews)
  • Success indicators:
    • Well-prepared inputs for discussions
    • Early identification of performance concerns or well-being indicators
    • Judicious escalation of issues

Data-Driven Decision Making

  • Review critical reports, including utilization, staffing, and availability metrics
  • Share actionable insights with the Talent Management team and practice leadership
  • Expected outcomes:
    • Accurate data collation
    • Transparent communication
    • Joint problem-solving for improvements

Operations & TM Initiatives

  • Maintain precise and up-to-date data across systems
  • Organize materials for staffing and talent discussions
  • Drive process enhancements to streamline operations
  • Deliver excellence in attention to details and proactive roles across the Talent Management ecosystem

Skills & Experience You Bring

Available candidates should ideally meet the following criteria:

  • Relevant experience: 3–5+ years in Talent Management, staffing, HR, recruiting, consulting operations, or fast-paced client services

  • Teams of strengths:

    • Strong cross-functional communication and proven credibility with Consultants, Project Leaders, Partners, and functional colleagues
    • Self-motivated, resilient, and proactive – excels under pressure, with strong ownership and flexibility
    • Proficiency in: Excel, PowerPoint, resource-planning tools, and AI/system automation
    • Abilty to transform complex data into clear strategic insights and actionable materials
  • Attention to responsibility across components (data, stakeholder management, problem resolution)
