The Role
As an O&M Mechanical Technician, you’ll join our team at the Wesfield Energy Recovery Facility in Fife, performing skilled maintenance to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable plant operations.
Key Responsibilities
Carrying out maintenance tasks under general supervision, with a focus on:
- Mechanical maintenance and repairs across all plant systems and equipment, ensuring compliance with HSEQ (Health, Safety, Environment & Quality) regulations
- Planning & executing maintenance – conducting risk assessments, identifying hazards, and reporting any HSE issues or non-compliance promptly
- System inspections, lubrication, and adjustments – keeping plant equipment performing optimally while maintaining clean, safe, and organised work areas
- Supporting the team – guiding junior staff on safe work practices while upholding a safety-first culture
- Participating in HSE audits & inspections – improving operational standards, safety, and environmental performance

Requirements
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Recognised engineering apprenticeship (mandatory)
- Experience in heavy/process or industrial environments
- Strong familiarity with:
- Gearboxes
- Conveyors
- Valves
- Steam systems
- Hydraulics
- Background in:
- Fault diagnosis
- Maintenance planning
- Outage support

Desirable Qualifications & Experience
- IOSH Managing Safely certification
- HNC/HND in Engineering
