Job Description

Kanadevia Inova is hiring an O&M Mechanical Technician to join our team on our Wesfield Energy Recovery Facility in Fife.

Under general maintenance supervision, the Mechanical Technician will carry out skilled mechanical work to support the safe and efficient operation of the facility, ensuring plant reliability and performance in line with production targets and HSEQ standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical maintenance and repairs across plant systems and equipment, ensuring all activities comply with HSEQ regulations, procedures, and safe systems of work
  • Plan, execute, and document maintenance tasks, conducting risk assessments, identifying hazards, and reporting HSE issues or non-compliance promptly
  • Inspect, lubricate, and adjust plant equipment to maintain optimal performance, while keeping clean, safe, and organised work areas
  • Provide guidance and direction to team members, supporting safe working practices and actively contributing to a safety-first culture across the site
  • Participate in HSE inspections, audits, and safety meetings, driving continuous improvement in safety, environmental performance, and operational standards

Qualifications

  • Recognised engineering apprenticeship (essential)
  • Experience within a heavy process or industrial environment (essential)
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Gearboxes
    • Conveyors
    • Valves
    • Steam systems
    • Hydraulics
  • Experience in:
    • Fault diagnosis
    • Maintenance planning
    • Outage support
  • Desirable qualifications:
    • IOSH Managing Safely certification
    • HNC/HND in Engineering
