About the Role
The Physical Security Department for Vantage Data Centers EMEA is a hands-on team responsible for:
- Full-spectrum management—system specifications, site & system design, procurement, installation, configuration, & maintenance of network/servers & live-site physical security hardware
- Collaboration with vendors to identify emerging technology, ensuring cost-sensitive yet high-performance security solutions
- Participation in designing new data centre security infrastructure, balancing human security, technology, and performance
- This role is ideal for those who enjoy building, deploying, and optimizing security frameworks in dynamic environments
Position Overview
The Operations Management Centre Specialist (OMCS) will be embedded in the EMEA Operations Management Centre (OMC). As our first-line escalation resource, this role bridges the OMC with EMEA Data Centre sites to:
- Provide on-going operational guidance to on-site security teams
- Ensure consistent adherence to security protocols, incident response, and business continuity standards
Enables seamless coordination between: ➔ OMC ➔ Site-Level Security Operations Centres (SOC) ➔ Vantage Site Security Managers
The OMCS will serve as a steadfast escalation point, resolving critical incidents, and maintaining operational resilience 24/7.
Essential Job Functions
On-Site Security Team Support
- Support efficient execution of customer service-level agreements (SLAs)
- Primary point of contact for EMEA sites, offering targeted guidance
- Address site-specific challenges—access control, incident resolution, and policy alignment
- Champion consistent application of global security protocols

Incident Coordination and Escalation
- Limit impact by assisting during critical incidents, providing real-time decision-making
- Ensure timely reporting for incidents, including follow-up post-incident reviews & recommendations
- Oversee P1/P2 elevateation priority systems, keeping sites aligned
- Serve as OMC emergency response hub, coordinating and escalating to stakeholders
Business Continuity and Risk Support
- Partner with sites to develop and maintain continuous improvement plans (BCPs/ERPs)
- Collaborate on procedure refinements for evacuations, infrastructure failures, and lone-worker safeguards
- Establish and execute regional threat intelligence frameworks, leveraging third-party reports
- Identify trends in incidents and propose site adjustments
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Serve as strategic liaison between geographies, sites, ops teams, and senior management
- Provide security performance tracking for internal/external reporting
- Align site actions with organizational goals through cross-functional workshops
Key Skills and Competencies
- Democratic leadership—ability to provide operational coaching while maintaining consensus under pressure
- Deep knowledge of physical security principles, business continuity, and incident response frameworks
- Proven critical incident management expertise with a focus on event escalation
- Strong skillset in risk assessment, procedure audits, and pro-active threat analysis
- Exceptional communication & interpersonal skills, excelling with diverse stakeholders
- Grace under pressure—comfortable thriving in emergency, multi-stakeholder scenarios

Qualifications & Experience
- 2+ years in a physical security, critical infrastructure, or data centre field, preferably supervisory/support roles
- Familiarity with:
- Access-control systems
- Surveillance platforms
- Incident-management tools (e.g., Genetec)
- Demonstrated ability to escalate, troubleshoot, and implement solutions dynamically
- Regional security sensitivity a significant plus

Working Conditions
Shift-based role covering: ✔ 24/7 coverage, including weekend, night shifts, and statutory holidays ✔ May include on-call obligations + schedule flexibility to handle emergent needs ✔ Primarily office-based in an OMC environment
