On Board Host
On-Board Host for TransPennine Express (TPE) at York Station
Pay Rate: £13.65 per hour plus commission Hours: Full Time (39 hours / week) Shifts: Rotational shifts between 6am and 8pm, including some weekends
Requirements include being 18 years or older for certain tasks or shifts. Adaptability is essential in a dynamic, fast-paced, and customer-facing environment, often involving long hours and varying shifts.
About the Business
A premier provider of catering and onboard services to the British Railway Industry, Rail Gourmet spans over 40 service centres nationwide and employs over 1,000 people across the UK. We are committed to providing a first-class service.
Ideal Candidate
We’re looking for someone with:
- At least 2 years of experience in a customer-facing role in retail, leisure, or hospitality
- Full training will be provided for all qualifications required for the role

- Providing ‘at-seat trolley service’ on TPE trains, ensuring exceptional customer service
- Managing stock & processing transactions efficiently
- Itinerating trains as assigned, assisting passengers and meeting sales targets
- Adhering to stringent hygiene & safety protocols
- Supporting management initiatives and stock reconciliations
