Meal Delivery Driver

Position Summary

This is a responsible part-time position under the direction of the Director of the Aging and Disability Resource Center of Vernon County. This position is responsible for all the ordering and delivery of meals to eligible participants in their homes using a private vehicle in this delivery.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Picks up prepared meals at caterer.
- Delivers meals to homebound consumers.
- Ensures that food is kept at proper temperature until serving time.
- May help prepare food containers to be taken to the homebound.
- Reports concerns about homebound consumers to Aging and Disability Resource Center office.
- Maintains daily and monthly delivery sheets and counts.
- Completes monthly reports.

Education And Training Requirements
- One to four years of secondary education (high school) with preference for graduate of an accredited high school or GED with sufficient academic training to perform the work as required and to understand oral and written instructions. Previous related experience helpful but not required.
- Passing of caregiver background check.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation with adequate auto insurance to meet minimum County requirements, or access to reliable transportation for city and rural travel.

Meal Site Manager
Department: Human Services
Reports to: Human Services Manager- ADRC, Human Services Director
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Pay Grade: B
Position Summary
This is a responsible part-time position under the direction of the Unit Supervisor/Director of the Aging and Disability Resource Center of Vernon County involving the ordering and serving of meals to senior citizens at designated dining centers or for delivery to their homes. This person may assist with the organization and coordination of all site functions, including: meal service, meal reservations, home-delivered meals, special events, Holiday functions, and referrals to the Aging and Disability Resource Center Office.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Organizes and supervises the serving of our nutrition program meals.
- Organizes and directs volunteers in the cleanup of kitchen and equipment as required.
- Orders meals and supplies.
- Maintains daily attendance sheets, counts, and deposits meal donations.
- Completes monthly reports.
- Reports volunteer hours to be used as in-kind, on a timely basis.
- Ensures that food is kept at proper temperature until serving time.
- Participates and supervises the setting-up activities such as table setting, coffee preparation, and setting arrangements.
- May prepare food containers to be taken to the homebound.
- Serves the food and assists the individuals needing help through the food line.
- Washes dishes and directs cleanup activities.
- Contacts the ADRC when concerns are observed about a consumer. This includes reaching out to the office when someone is scheduled to show up and does not come.
- Submits reports to the Nutrition Program Coordinator on attendance, volunteers, and donations.
- Manage program donations according to procedures set in place.
- Recruits volunteers to help with the program under the direction of the ADRC Manager.
- Completes outreach for new consumers.
- May assist with packaging meals for home delivered participants.
- Assists in work storage areas such as unpacking, storing supplies, etc.

Physical Requirements
- Involves minimal potential and/or direct exposure to blood and body fluids.
- Ability to sit, stand, and move around for extended periods.
- Proficiency in keyboarding and using office equipment such as computers, printers, and copiers.
- Capable of lifting and carrying light to moderate supplies.
- Visual acuity to read printed materials and view computers screen for extended periods.
- Manual dexterity to operate equipment and perform tasks.
- Ability to communicate with the public and Vernon County staff in-person and on the phone.
- May travel to other Vernon County locations.
- Occasionally may handle stressful situation(s) and short deadlines.
- Involves minimal potential and/or direct exposure to blood or bodily fluids.
Education And Training Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited high School or GED, supplemented by an associate degree in Accounting/Finance with additional courses in business/supervisory management. Minimum of five years of experience in a business office. Requires computer experience including accounting and spreadsheet applications; with preference for demonstrated competency in accounting and supervisory skills. The county may consider an acceptable equivalent combination of training and experience.
