About the Role

This role can be based Onsite in Inverness or Manchester, 5 days per week.

As part of the Identity & Access Management Team, you will be supporting the delivery of IAM services to ensure:

  • The right people (or systems) have the right access to the right resources at the right time, and for the right reasons.

Your role will focus on the following areas:

  • Identity lifecycle management – creating, modifying, and removing user accounts
  • Authentication – verifying who someone is (e.g., passwords, multi-factor authentication (MFA), certificates)
  • Authorization – controlling what users are allowed to access
  • Governance & auditing – tracking access and ensuring compliance

Core Responsibilities

  • Administration of Active Directory users, groups, and Group Policy Objects (GPOs)
  • Active Directory Certificate Services (AD CS) internal Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) management
  • Microsoft Identity Manager (MIM) integration and JML (JIT Management Language) support

Skills and Experience

Required

  • Experience with Active Directory
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Identity Manager (MIM)
  • Familiarity with AD CS PKI

Desirable

  • Experience with Microsoft Entra ID
  • Knowledge of BeyondTrust PRA (Privileged Access) and PAM (Privileged Access Management)
  • Familiarity with Okta

Security Checks and Pre-Employment Requirements

A series of pre-employment checks will be carried out following a successful job offer, including:

  • Identity verification
  • Nationality (single or dual) or immigration status confirmation
  • Employment history going back 3 continuous years
  • Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check (unspent criminal record check)

Security Clearance Requirements

For this role, you will be required to undergo Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) checks.

  • There are no nationality or residency restrictions; however, if you have resided outside of the UK within the last 3 years, further checks may be required.
  • Additionally, the process will involve questions about your security clearance eligibility (e.g., countries of residence and nationality).
