Role Description
The On Premise Identity and Access Management Support Engineer is a full-time hybrid role based in Inverness, with flexibility for some work from home. This role is responsible for supporting and maintaining on-premise identity and access management platforms, including user provisioning, role-based access control, and integration with directory services. The engineer will monitor access-related incidents, troubleshoot authentication and authorization issues, implement approved changes, and ensure security policies are consistently applied.

Daily tasks include:

- Collaborating with security and infrastructure teams
- Documenting configurations and procedures
- Performing routine system health checks
- Assisting with audits and compliance reporting
The role also involves participating in upgrades, patching activities, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reliability and security.
Qualifications
- Strong experience with on-premise Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions (e.g., Active Directory, LDAP, on-prem SSO, role-based access control).
- Solid knowledge of networking and infrastructure fundamentals (e.g., Windows/Linux servers, DNS, firewalls, VPNs) relevant to identity and access services.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting, incident management, and root cause analysis for authentication and authorization issues.
- Experience with security best practices, compliance standards, and audit support for access control and user lifecycle management.
- Ability to create and maintain clear technical documentation, runbooks, and standard operating procedures.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft, CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or IAM-focused certifications) are beneficial.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a hybrid environment, manage priorities, and deliver high-quality support in a fast-paced setting.
