Electrician – HMP Haverigg, Nr Millom LA18 4NA
£30,866 – £36,135 + 15% weekend allowance
We’re recruiting an Electrician to join the Amey Facilities Management team at HMP Haverigg. Set in a beautiful coastal location, Haverigg is widely known as one of the nicest prisons to work at, with a friendly team, supportive management, and a genuinely positive site culture.
Please note: HMP Haverigg is over an hour from Lancaster and in a rural area – unless immediately local, driving is essential.
Hours (39 per week)
- Monday–Thursday: 08:00 – 17:00
- Friday–Sunday: 08:00 – 16:00
- 1 in 3 weekends on a rota (paid at +15% of basic salary)
The role
- Planned and reactive electrical maintenance
- Fault-finding, minor works, testing & inspections (BS7671)
- Ensuring electrical systems are safe, compliant, and operational
- Supporting wider FM duties, including occasional escorting

What you’ll need
- Level 2 Electrical qualification
- 18th Edition (17th considered with upskilling)
- Strong H&S and PPM knowledge
- Experience working independently and at heights
- Knowledge of Electricity at Work Regulations
