On-Site Electrician

Electrician – HMP Garth, Leyland (PR26 8NE)
£30,866 – £36,135 | Permanent
39 hours per week | 8am–5pm
1 in 4 weekends (rota) + 15% allowance
Free parking | On-site gym | Catering facilities
We’re recruiting a qualified Electrician for a permanent, single-site role at HMP Garth.
This is steady work on a long-term MoJ contract – no travelling between sites, consistent hours and job security.
Key duties
- Planned & reactive electrical maintenance
- Fault finding and repairs
- Minor works and like-for-like replacements
- Testing and inspections to BS7671
- Ensuring systems are safe, compliant and operational

Requirements
- Level 2 Electrical qualification
- 18th Edition (17th considered with training)
- Electrical maintenance experience
- Knowledge of Electricity at Work Regulations
- Able to work independently
- Basic IT skills
Fire Alarm/CCTV Experience Desirable But Not Essential.
Prison security clearance including Standard DBS required – full support provided by Amey.
