Good, we're building something big in the UK & Ireland – and we're looking for a technically driven Onboarding & Pre-Sales Engineer to help deliver world-class IoT telematics solutions for customers across the UK & Ireland.

About the Role & Company

Teltonika is a global leader in Internet of Things (IoT), with over 25 years of innovation, operations in 27+ countries, and 2,500+ employees worldwide. Following our UK operation launch in 2024, we’re investing heavily in our Telematics business.

This newly created role will help us grow our commercial success, working closely with customers, partners, and our commercial team. You’ll play a critical part in delivering outstanding technical solutions—from pre-sales right through to deployment and long-term support.

📍 Head Office – Suite G 2.1, Building 8, Exchange Quay, M5 3EJ, Salford, Greater Manchester, UK


Key Responsibilities

Customer Onboarding & Technical Delivery

  • Lead the technical onboarding of new customers, from initial setup to go-live.
  • Deliver customer training on:
    • Teltonika hardware, software platforms (e.g., RMS, FMB, FMC, TAT Series)
    • Reporting tools and fleet management integrations.
  • Create clear onboarding documentation, user guides, and bespoke configuration summaries.
  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact throughout the entire process.

Solution Design & Sales Support

  • Design and recommend telematics solutions aligned with business requirements and operations.
  • Support Business Development Managers with:
    • Technical expertise
    • Solution demos and proof-of-concept activities.
    • Pre-sales and pipeline advice.

Hardware & Field Engineering

  • Install, configure, and commission Teltonika telematics devices (e.g., FMB, FMC, TAT) across vehicle types and environments.
  • Conduct site surveys, equipment testing, and quality assurance to secure successful deployments.
  • Manage stock of field tools, spares, and equipment for global Teltonika product lines.

Troubleshooting & Integration

  • Provide remote technical support, diagnosing hardware, connectivity (LTE/4G/5G), and software issues.
  • Assist with third-party integrations, including fleet management platforms, GPS systems, and IoT ecosystems.
  • Collaborate with internal engineering teams to:
    • Test new configurations.
    • Optimise customer solutions across CAN Bus, OBDII, API integrations, and VPN/VLAN setups.
  • Maintain detailed technical records (installation, documentation, and support logs).

Customers & Partnerships

  • Represent Teltonika professionally: in front of clients, partners, and technical stakeholders.
  • Present complex technical concepts clearly to both expert and non-technical audiences.

Requirements

Essential

✔ Proven customer-facing experience in pre-sales, field engineering, installation, or technical support. ✔ Experience designing technical solutions for sales, pre-sales, or equivalent roles. ✔ Hands-on hardware installation & configuration (including low-voltage vehicle wiring). ✔ Broad telematics, GPS, or vehicle-tech familiarity (IoT systems, GPS tracking, fleet management). ✔ Strong technical writing and communication skills (explaining complex concepts simply). ✔ Ability to self-solve technical issues remotely and on-site. ✔ Full UK driving licence (travel across UK & Ireland will be required).

Preferred

🔹 Experience in: Telematics / GPS, IoT, Teltonika hardware (e.g., FMB, FMC, RUT/TRB), OBU devices, or RMS. 🔹 ** CAN Bus, OBDII, RS232/485 communications**. 🔹 API integrations, LMP-protocol, or industrial networking (LTE/VPN/Firewalls). 🔹 Formal qualifications in: CCNA, HNC/HND, City & Guilds, or equivalent.
