We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Oncology Advanced Nurse Practitioner. You will provide advanced clinical assessment, diagnosis, and management for patients with confirmed cancer.

About the Role

Working autonomously within an agreed scope of practice, you will deliver high-quality, patient-centred care, supporting patients through diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up. The role involves managing complex oncology presentations, monitoring treatment toxicities, prescribing appropriate therapies, and providing holistic support.

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team, to ensure safe, effective, and coordinated care.
  • Contribute to service development, clinical governance, and the implementation of evidence-based practice to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Provide advanced clinical assessment, examination, diagnosis, and management for oncology patients.
  • Manage oncology-related symptoms and treatment toxicities.
  • Request, interpret, and act upon diagnostic investigations.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized treatment and management plans in collaboration with the MDT.
  • Independently prescribe medications and supportive therapies within scope of practice and local policies.
  • Conduct oncology review clinics, follow-up appointments, and treatment assessment clinics.
  • Provide holistic care, addressing the physical, psychological, emotional, and social needs of patients and their families.
  • Offer education and advice to patients and carers regarding diagnosis, treatment options, side effects, and self-management strategies.
  • Participate in and contribute to multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings to support clinical decision-making and coordinated care planning.
  • Identify and respond to oncological emergencies and acute patient deterioration, initiating appropriate interventions and referrals.
  • Ensure safe and effective care transitions across hospital, outpatient, and community services.
  • Contribute to service development, clinical audit, and quality improvement initiatives within oncology services.
  • Support education, mentorship, and supervision of nursing staff, students, and junior colleagues.
  • Engage in continuous professional development, research, and implementation of evidence-based practice to improve patient outcomes.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
