One Stop - Customer Service Assistant
Customer Service Assistant – One Stop (Tesco Subsidiary)
About the Role
We’re looking for a Customer Service Assistant to join our team at One Stop, a subsidiary of Tesco. As a Customer Service Assistant, you will work in a fast-paced retail environment where no two days are the same.
You will play a critical role in the day-to-day operations of our store, including:
- Providing excellent customer service
- Stocking shelves
- Processing payments
- Contributing to maintaining the store’s appearance
With the customer at the heart of everything we do, you will focus on improving service through on-the-job coaching, feedback, and continuous learning. Your role includes ensuring the store remains safe, welcoming, and efficient for everyone.
Key Responsibilities
Customer-Facing Tasks
- Serve customers with passion and pride, ensuring a great natural experience
- Actively encourage customer feedback by completing the "Have Your Say" survey
- Work across all store areas, including:
- Online services
- Tills & checkout operations
- Replenishment & stock management
- Vending and stock routines
Safety & Compliance
- Follow training guidelines to ensure safe working practices for self and others
- Adhere to the "Think 25" policy when serving age-restricted products
- Respond quickly to self-service checkout issues, explaining actions clearly to customers
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and organised store environment
- Wear available safety equipment and follow security procedures

Leadership & Accountability
- May be responsible for running shifts in the absence of senior management
- Ensure accuracy in clocking in/out to guarantee fair pay for worked hours
- Uphold company values, policies, and corporate standards
- Complete seasonal, community, and charity events to foster inclusivity
Additional Duties (If Applicable)
- If your store operates a Post Office Local, you will:
- Perform day-to-day Post Office tasks
- Undergo a Post Office Financial and criminal conviction background check
- Note: Failure of these checks may result in the withdrawal of the job offer
