Customer Service Assistant – One Stop
About the Role
We’re looking for a Customer Service Assistant to join our team at One Stop, a subsidiary of Tesco. As a Customer Service Assistant, you will be working in a fast-paced retail environment where no day is the same.
You will play a critical role in the day-to-day operations of our store by providing excellent customer service, stocking shelves, processing payments, and helping maintain the store’s appearance.
As the customer is at the heart of everything we do, you will be constantly looking for ways to improve service in your store through on-the-job coaching and feedback. With your guidance, your store will always remain a safe place to work and shop.
Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
- Knowing your customers and serving them with passion and pride, delivering high-quality, natural service.
- Actively encouraging customers to provide feedback through completing the ‘Have Your Say’ survey.
- Working across all store areas, including:
- Online services
- Self-service & till operations
- Replenishment & stock routines
- Vending machines & customer assistance To ensure tasks meet customer needs.
- Applying safety training to ensure we always work securely.
- Supporting seasonal, community, and charity events to foster an inclusive, welcoming atmosphere.
- Understanding store performance, your role in driving profitability, and continuously improving service.
- Embracing our company values, maintaining police & policy compliance, and ensuring customers feel welcome.
- Accurately clocking in/out to ensure correct payment.
- Ensuring personal, colleague, and customer safety by following security procedures and wearing required equipment.
- Strictly adhering to the Think 25 policy when serving age-restricted products.
- Responding quickly and professionally to self-service checkout interventions, clearly explaining actions to customers.
- Maintaining a clean, tidy, and organised store, keeping aisles clear.
- At times, covering shift leadership duties in the absence of the Shift Manager or Store Manager.

Additional Note: If your designated store has a Post Office Local, your duties may include day-to-day Post Office operations. This will require a financial and criminal conviction background check, which must be passed. Failure may result in a withdrawn job offer.
