Customer Service Assistant – Join One Stop (Tesco subsidiary)
About the Role
We’re recruiting a Customer Service Assistant to join One Stop, a subsidiary of Tesco, in a fast-paced, dynamic retail environment where no day is the same.
You’ll play a critical role in supporting day-to-day store operations, including:
- Providing excellent customer service
- Stocking shelves
- Processing payments
- Helping maintain a clean, presentable store
With customers at the heart of everything, you’ll: • Continuously identify ways to improve service • Encourage feedback via the ‘Have Your Say’ surveys • Ensure the store remains safe, welcoming, and customer-focused
Responsibilities
Here’s what your role will entail:
Customer-Focused Work
- Know your customers and serve them with passion and pride
- Actively encourage feedback through ‘Have Your Say’ surveys
- Work across multiple store areas, including online operations, tills, replenishment, vending, and stock control
Safety & Compliance
- Follow training guidelines to ensure safe operations
- Adhere to security procedures and wear safety equipment where required
- Uphold the ‘Think 25’ policy when serving age-restricted products
- Respond quickly to self-service checkout interventions, explaining actions to customers
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and organised store environment

Community & Store Responsibilities
- Participate in seasonal, community, and charity events
- Support store profitability by understanding performance metrics and team goals
- Live the company values and follow all policies
- Accurately clock in/out for fair pay
- Lead shift operations in the absence of the Shift Leader or Store Manager when required
Special Obligations (If Applicable)
If your store includes a Post Office Local, you’ll manage its daily operations, subject to:
- A Post Office background check (financial + criminal)
- Consequence: Withdrawal of job offer if checks fail
