Customer Service Assistant – One Stop (Tesco)

About the Role

We’re looking for a Customer Service Assistant to join our team at One Stop, a subsidiary of Tesco. As a Customer Service Assistant, you’ll thrive in a fast-paced retail environment where every day brings something new.

You’ll play a critical role in daily store operations, delivering:

  • Excellent customer service
  • Stock management and replenishment
  • Payment processing
  • Maintaining a welcoming, safe, and organised store appearance

Central to this role is a commitment to constant service improvement, through coaching, feedback, and proactive problem-solving.

"With your guidance, your store will always remain a safe place to work and shop."

Your Responsibilities

  • "I know my customers and serving them with passion and pride, giving great natural service."
  • "I actively encourage customers to give feedback on their shopping trip through completing the ‘have your say’ survey."
  • Support across all store operations, including:
    • Online services
    • Till operations
    • Replenishment and stock routines
    • Vending machines and FAQ resolution
  • "I work across all areas of the store to ensure tasks meet customer needs."
  • "I put into practice the training I have received to ensure we work safely."
  • "Taking part in seasonal, community, and charity events, creating a great inclusive atmosphere."
  • Understand store performance and contribute to achieving profit targets through teamwork.
  • "Being myself, living our values, making everyone feel welcome and always following our policies."
  • "I ensure I clock in and out at the start and end of my shift to ensure accurate payment."
  • Ensure safety compliance:
    • Follow security procedures.
    • Wear available safety equipment.
    • "I keep myself, my colleagues, and customers safe by following security requirements."
  • Follow the ‘Think 25’ policy when serving age-restricted products.
  • Respond quickly to assistance calls or self-service checkout issues, communicating clearly with customers.
  • Maintain a clean, tidy, and congestion-free store while fulfilling operational duties.
  • May step in as a temporary shift leader in the absence of the assigned Shift Leader or Store Manager.
  • "I ensure I follow all the training I’ve received to keep myself, others, and the store safe and legal."

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
