# Customer Service Assistant – One Stop (Subsidiary of Tesco)
About the Role
We’re seeking a Customer Service Assistant to join our dynamic team at One Stop, a trusted local store part of the Tesco Group. This role ensures a smooth and engaging retail experience, where no two days are the same. Your passion for service, adaptability and commitment to creating a safe, inclusive environment are critical.
As a key team member, you’ll:
- Provide instinctive customer service with genuine care and attention
- Stock shelves efficiently, process payments, and maintain the store’s cleanliness and appearance
- Assist across all store areas—online systems, tills, replenishment, vending, and routine stock duties—to meet customer needs.
- Embrace training and feedback to continuously enhance quality and safety
- Help led seasonal, community, and charity events while embodying our values
You’ll ensure shoppers feel welcome, safe, and valued. Our supportive environment grows with your input—pro-actively supporting colleagues to deliver exceptional service and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

Deliver personalised, natural service—knowledge and pride in understanding your customers’ needs
- Generate feedback through ‘Have Your Say’ surveys* to drive improvements

Work holistically across the store, including:
- Online portal operations
- Efficient payment processing
- Stock replenishment and scheduling
- Self-service checkout support, resolving queries with clear communication
- Cleanliness and stock organization—ensuring aisles remain congestion-free

Safety and compliance:
- Apply Think 25 policy for age-restricted products
- Respond quickly to security incidents
- Follow Nexus procedures (with safety gear as required)
- Perform background checks if the store includes a Post Office Local:

Be individually accountable for:
- Accurate timesheet compliance (clock in/out correctly)
- Upholding building's loss prevention policies
- Adhering to legal and safety training—keeping yourself, colleagues, and assets secure

Assist in Leadership Cover when required—relieving Shift Leaders and Store Managers in absence (liaise as needed)

Engage with corporate social responsibility:
- Volunteer for community/charity activities
- Champion events like raffles, donations, or fundraising campaigns

Observe and understand store KPIs, aligning your efforts toward driving sales and operational success
About You

There are no formal qualifications required. It’s your commitment to collaboration, customer-centricity, and a positive “hygge” energy that counts.
Post Office Local candidates must also:
- Hold a full UK right to work (visa dependants: additional documentation required)
- Have the flexibility to work regular store hours + late or weekend shifts, including statutory closing times
