About the Role

At One Stop, our HGV Class Drivers play a vital role in keeping our stores fully stocked and running smoothly. We are looking for reliable, safety-focused individuals who take pride in delivering goods efficiently and on time, while upholding the highest standards of professionalism. As a key representative of our business, you will ensure our products reach stores safely, supporting our commitment to excellent service for customers and colleagues alike.

You will be responsible for

  • Deliver goods into our stores across the UK, ensuring products reach stores in good condition and where necessary I will handball goods into the store.
  • Have a flexible approach to start times including nights out where applicable.
  • Comply with Health and Safety regulations including company policy and procedures.
  • At all times comply with EU Road Transport regulations ensuring I do not put myself or the company at risk of breaching any working time regulations.
  • Professionally represent the One Stop brand whilst driving on UK roads, in a responsible manner complying with all current EU Road Transport regulation.
  • Demonstrate the right behaviours and build good relationships with colleagues, transport teams, stores teams and our customers.
  • My actions will ensure that no liability can be attributed to the company when accidents occur.
  • Work with colleagues and customers to reduce impact on our environment by minimising noise and parking considerately during my deliveries.
  • Inform the transport teams of any changes which have been made that may negatively affect the local community or affect the delivery process.
  • Complete a Daily Vehicle Check to ensure the vehicle is roadworthy and all checks are in line with the ‘Daily Vehicle Check’ procedure.
  • Report immediately all vehicle defects in line with the ‘Vehicle Defect’ procedure.
  • Ensure the vehicle load is safe and check PDA Device.
  • All legislation and paperwork concerning the vehicle’s Tachograph is complied with.
  • Ensure that my customer endorses all documentation before leaving the goods and report any delivery discrepancies at the time of delivery.
  • Inform a member of the Transport team immediately should I be unable to deliver the goods to the store for any reason.
  • Keep the vehicle in a clean and presentable condition internally.
  • Report immediately to the Transport team any problem, accidental damage etc.
  • Action any other elements to fulfil the operational needs of the business.
  • Complete any other reasonable duties as allocated by the transports managerial team.

You will need

  • Excellent understanding of EU Regulations and WTD.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Is passionate about the role and delivers with great drive and enthusiasm.
  • Good Health & Safety understanding.
  • Capable of working as part of a larger team.
  • Valid CPC Card.
  • Cat C + E License.
  • Digital Tachograph Card.
